We love April in Orange County.  It’s starting to get warm, the kids have spring break, and the beach is calling our names!  April is also the city of STEM month!  So many amazing STEM opportunities this month.

So here’s what happening in April

April 1st & 2nd | International Children’s Festival at the Aquarium of the Pacific

The Aquarium of the Pacific’s twelfth annual International Children’s Festival is a special festival for kids. Celebrating the amazing talents of children of all cultures, this festival features West African, Mexican, Pacific Islander, Cambodian, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Persian, and Irish dance performances. Enjoy performances by an international children’s choir and martial arts demonstrations. Kids of all ages can partake in a percussion circle, Japanese origami, Native American crafts, and Pacific Islander traditional children’s games.

April 1st through the 17th | Disney’s Egg-stravaganza Disneyland Resort

Search for special hidden “eggs” themed to Disney and Pixar characters. Record your discoveries by placing the corresponding sticker on the themed Egg-stravaganza map to represent that location.

April 1st | April Fools 11am – 3pm  Pretend City

Happy April Fool’s Day! Join us for our wacky rendition of acting foolish and being silly! Our day will be full of fun-filled activities to celebrate this silly day!

April 1st through the 23rd | Knott’s Boysenberry Festival {Check Website for Times} Knott’s Berry Farm

Knott’s Berry Farm is the birthplace of The Boysenberry and each spring, Knott’s celebrates the flavorful berry and its historic roots during the Knott’s Boysenberry Festival

April 1st & 2nd | Discover the Dinosaurs Unleashed  9am – 7pm

April 10th through the 11th | Chabad & Seder

Local Passover & Seder Events throughout Orange County.  

April 14th | My Gym Discovery! 2:30-5:30 PM My Gym Downtown Buena Park Mall 

Come join us for a fun-filled afternoon and free My Gym class with raffles, prizes, and wonderful books, toys, and apparel for kids!

April 15th | Easter Bash Fullerton Joeun Church 10am – 3pm *FREE*

Raffles, tacos, photo booth, and egg hunt! A fundraiser for Baby John Speak Life!

April 15th | Buena Park Spring EGGstravaganza 8am – 12pm

Prizes, candy and lots of “egg-citement” describes this year’s FREE Buena Park Spring Eggstravaganza. Join the thousands of people who attend the annual event celebrating this wonderful time of the year.

April 16th | CrossPointe Church Eggstravaganza 10:30am

A fun-filled encouraging event for the whole family.  30,000 Easter Egg drop from a helicopter!

April 16th | Tanaka Farms Easter Luncheon 10am – 12pm

Join us for an Easter Luncheon at Tanaka Farms!

April 22nd | Habitat for Humanity Anaheim ReStore (Event and Recycling) 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The Habitat for Humanity ReStores are hosting a hands-on workshop for up to 25 pre-registered participants who are asked to bring a small piece of furniture that can easily be transformed into something new. Instructed by Kristin from King Richard’s Antique Center, this interactive workshop will teach furniture re-painting techniques and a fun two-color “wet distress” technique. There is a $35 registration fee that covers the cost of instruction and supplies, with 100% of the proceeds donated to Habitat for Humanity of Orange County in support of our mission.

April 22nd & 23rd  | Green Scene Plant & Garden Expo 11am – 5pm, 10am – 4pm

The 43rd annual Green Scene Plant and Garden Expo returns to the Fullerton Arboretum on April 22nd and 23rd!

This fun spring event features over 80 vendors offering:
-Beautiful and unique plants for your garden
-Handcrafted art and pottery
-Custom craft and home goods

April 22nd | Annual Earth Day Festival 10am – 3pm

Join Bolsa Chica Conservancy for some free family fun, as we celebrate our annual Earth Day Festival! The festival will include educational activity booths, tours, food and more! Don’ t miss out on the eco-friendly fun!

April 22nd | Costa Mesa Community Run 

The 10th Annual Costa Mesa Community Run will take place April 22nd at Fairview Park. This event features one of the best 5K and 10K courses you’ll find in Southern California.

April 28th through the 30th | Pet Expo OC Fairgrounds 10am – 6pm

April 29th | Defying Gravity Columbia Memorial Space Center

Defying Gravity explores the emotional core of the 1986 Challenger Space Shuttle disaster, artfully weaving together the lives of participants and bystanders. The civilian teacher leads us through the excitement of the opportunity before her, juxtaposed with the deeply felt grief of her daughter, balanced with the bold aspirations of elderly tourists who drive to watch the launch, the guilt felt by a NASA mechanic, and even the parallels drawn from Painter Claude Monet’s artistic quest. The play explores our need to reach beyond ourselves and dare the universe.
