Since the 1990’s, I have always lived in or around Anaheim Hills. I know, I never really ventured out very far. Recently, my husband and I decided to move a bit closer to his job, which landed us in Costa Mesa. So far living in and getting to know our new city has been pretty exciting! Shortly before our move, we decided to get to know the surrounding area a little better and spent Father’s Day at Pacific City in Huntington Beach.
Located off the PCH just down the street from the pier, Pacific City is an outdoor shopping center filled with trendy boutiques and shops, a seemingly endless variety of restaurants, and a “Modern Food Hall” called LOT 579. They also host various events throughout the month from live music to car shows and movie nights.
We decided to start our visit off with brunch at Saint Marc, where I had a pretty fantastic plate of French toast topped with plenty of whipped cream and fresh fruit. They also serve BACON BY THE SLICE so of course, I added a few slices to my order. Kid’s menus are available. However, my daughter doesn’t have the biggest appetite just yet so we just gave her food from our plate. She did enjoy coloring on the menu as well as the fancy kid’s cup that our waiter brought out for her.
This restaurant also has an outdoor eating area with quick access to their bar, which I quickly made note would be a great spot for date nights!
Modern and innovative seems to be the theme for every shop and eatery at Pacific City, so I was pleasantly surprised at how accommodating they were to families with children.
In addition to having clean public bathrooms, there are also family rooms complete with comfortable areas to change diapers and sitting areas for both adults and children. We also happened upon a play area in one of the courtyards filled with giant foam building blocks that our daughter enjoyed playing in.
We skipped the shops for this visit and finished our day off with a trip to the LOT 579 food hall and enjoyed a cup of coffee and a danish at the Portola Coffee Lab. We also strolled over to the main deck and enjoyed some live music before making our way back to the parking structure.
So, what are my final thoughts on Pacific City?
Perfect for any time of day and great for couples with or without kids. And just a short walk from the beach, you can enjoy some time on the sand and finish your day at Pacific City. Some of the shops and eateries were a little more high-end, so keep that in mind before heading over. And do be sure to get your parking ticket validated!
