We have been in Anaheim Hills for 2 years now, so I think I am qualified to write a post that is a Brit’s guide to the best stores in the US!
I have extensively researched (Ask my husband. Or Chase) so here is my list. I am open to suggestions of other places I may love! Anyone who knows me well knows I love to shop. For me, for my husband, for my boys, for the house, for gifts; you name it and I love to buy it!!
Costco
My first ever trip to Costco resulted in me accidentally spending over $450! What a place Costco is. Who doesn’t want an industrial sized bottle of Kirkland bleach, a $5 rotisserie chicken AND a pair of yoga pants (rumor has it they are Lululemon) In fact, many of the Kirkland brand, which is Costco’s own brand are rumored to be made by companies who sell their high-end product for a high-end price tag. I’m most familiar with the Kirkland items that you’ll find in the booze aisle. Don’t judge me.
Target
The place where dreams are made. Also, the place where it is impossible to leave empty handed. Somehow the Target Redcard 5% discount spurs me on to get things I don’t need (miniature elf sleigh was a recent purchase!)
Pottery Barn (kids)
Before we moved here my only experience of Pottery Barn was from”The One with the Apothecary Table“. Fast forward few years and I found myself IN Pottery Barn looking at an ACTUAL Apothecary Table from the days of yore! Turns out most of that store isn’t really to my taste, but the kids store. Oh yes, that place is totally my jam. So. Much. Pretty.
Restoration Hardware
Restoration Hardware IS the place where beautiful homes are made. O.M.G. This place is full of incredible furniture, but it’s also sold at incredible prices. The outlet store fixes that problem, though. Between Target, Pottery Barn Kids and here I could deck my entire house out, and spend a few months wages in the process!
William Sonoma
For someone like me, who loves to cook, this place is like some kind of Mecca that calls me whenever I am in the mall. It’s a dangerous game walking into this store during the holiday season. I love to entertain, to bake and to cook, so somewhere filled with bakeware, gourmet ingredients and fancy pots and pans is HEAVEN!
Sephora
If you love beauty, you love Sephora. Ask my husband where I spend most of our money and he will say Target and Sephora. It’s just too enticing. All those skincare and makeup brands in one place makes it my biggest weakness. I just can’t help myself! They have a great reward program too where you earn points which you can use to get gifts. The last one I redeemed was a cute Tarte set for 500 points.
Bath and Body Works
CANDLES. FOAMY SOAP. All the seasonal smelling treats you can get your hands on in this gem of a place. It’s a life completing store with an insane amount of different smelling hand sanitizer. My kids both have one for Christmas so I can stop the constant need for one every time I take them into the store! I used to love a high-end hand soap but since discovering these beauties my obsession with Molton Brown is OVER. Do not even get me started on the coupons…
