Fat doesn't care anaheim moms blogI read an article a few months ago called “Strength Doesn’t Care”. It was a GREAT article for me because the gist of the article was that strength doesn’t care what your excuse may be.  At the end of the week you either did the work and got stronger, or you didn’t, it’s as simple as that. The only person you have to be mad at is yourself.

This got me to thinking however about how this relates directly to you. You want to lose body fat. Great, join the club, I hear they are getting jackets. Much like strength, however, FAT doesn’t care either. Let me explain.

You see when it comes to fat loss there are things that need to happen before you can lose any body fat. These are things like eating the right amount of calories, burning enough calories during your day, etc.

For the sake of this article, I will refer to all of the above as WORK. That is all it really is, work that has to be done.

Now, when you get to the end of a week and step on that scale, no matter what it says, that is what your WORK earned you for the week. Did you get busy and miss a day at the gym? Fat doesn’t care. Did you have a BBQ on Saturday and eat a little too much? Fat doesn’t care. Did you stay up late watching the House Wives reunion and eating ice cream? Fat doesn’t care (and neither should you)

No matter what, at the end of the week, you either did the WORK, and lost some body fat, or you didn’t, and you didn’t. That’s it. There is no begging after the fact, there is no reasoning about how much you cheated or how you did most of the work.

FAT DOESN’T CARE!

You may have an awesome excuse, like a sick kid, or you yourself were sick as a dog. While that may be a valid excuse, guess what, fat still doesn’t care. Fat gives no partial credit for effort or intentions, or if you tried really hard. You do the WORK or you don’t.

So if you are unhappy with the progress you are making, or lack thereof, chances are you are not doing the necessary WORK to get the results you want.  Just understand that you can’t bargain with your body fat.  At the end of the day, there is work that needs to be done.  If you want the results, you gotta pay the price.

Geoff is the owner and one of the coaches at Train Insane Gym in Anaheim. Geoff was born and raised in Anaheim, and spent most of his youth playing sports. After finishing his athletic career playing football at Golden West College, he realized that he needed something to compete at. It was at this time that Geoff found his true passion in weight training.
After receiving his AA at Golden West in Health Science, he attended the California University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated with a B.S. in Exercise Physiology and Sports Management.
After graduating, Geoff took a 4-month internship with the Washington Redskins as an assistant to the head strength coach John Hastings. It was there that Geoff learned how to implement the knowledge that he had retained from school. Learning how the coaches programmed the workouts to achieve each athletes goals is what gave him the idea for Train Insane. Taking the principles used by professional athletes, and modifying them for the average Joe or Jane.
After returning home from Virginia, Geoff began to put together the program that is now implemented at Train Insane Gym.  Since then the program has grown from 5 to over 100 members in only 9 months time.
