Thank you to all the new and expectant moms (and dads!) that attended Bloom – our second event ever – on Saturday, April 30th! This sold out morning event was hosted by The Clay Kilbarger Group of First Team Real Estate in their beautiful Anaheim Hills office. In keeping with the event name, the large and airy space was decorated with – you guessed it – gorgeous flower arrangements.

Upon arrival, attendees were given a complimentary raffle ticket (and the option to purchase more, with all profits going to a local Cancer Relay for Life Team The Menalon Scholars), plus an Anaheim Moms Blog gift bag filled with goodies and gift certificates, courtesy of the following sponsors:

As guests entered the main reception room, they were given the chance to have their photo taken in front of the Anaheim Moms Blog/Bloom step and repeat banner by Captured By Collins, who also took all of the event photos you see here! From that point, attendees had the option of perusing tables displaying all the raffle items before choosing which ones to try their hand at in winning. 20 lucky winners walked away that day with terrific raffle prizes from:

During the reception, guests were invited to attend a presentation by Making Sweet Dreams – Baby Sleep Coach expert Michelle S. Donaghy. Getting your baby to sleep was clearly a hot button topic as there were many eager participants in the Q&A that followed (more questions than there was time for in fact)! We discussed a variety of subjects including co-sleeping, using white noise, and how to get them down without nursing to sleep. Thank you Michelle for all the great advice!

Stevie Cruz from Stevie Cruz Photography also spoke about her passion for maternity and newborn photography.  Her photos were breathtaking.  She emphasized the importance of taking time for those special milestone moments and how her service can help to make sure you never miss one.  Each mom who signed up for newborn photography that day received free hair and make-up!  Thank you Stevie!

Melissa Fisher Goldman, LCSW spoke about life transitions.  Her powerful message about the grief that can accompany any transition whether happy or sad and how to cope with it in a healthy way was very eye-opening.  So many great questions were asked about post-partum depression, sibling jealousy and how family members can support a new mother.  Thank you Melissa!

A delicious breakfast spread was catered by Chic-fil-A, and Sweet Miracles Creations supplied the truly decadent dessert spread.

We had a fantastic time hosting Bloom: An Event For New & Expecting Mothers, and getting to meet some of our readers in person there! We hope to meet even more of you at our future gatherings – stay tuned for upcoming event info!
