Meet the Orange County Moms Blog Contributing Team
I grew up in Orange County then went to Los Angeles (with a short detour in Santa Barbara) for college and spent the next 12 years there thinking that was home until I met my amazing, now husband on Jdate.com and moved back here to start our life together. After years of helping out with family and friend’s kids I finally have one of my own, a 10 month old active, healthy, happy boy. I take Working Mom to a whole new dimension with a private mental health practice, a part-time hospice social work job, Oh and I blog too! It sounds like a lot but the decision to quit my full time job working for someone else to take my career and family life into my own hands was the best decision I ever made for myself and my family.Megan Phillips is a licensed clinical psychologist who owns a private practice that specializes in helping women and moms in Orange County (www.cottonwoodpsychologycenter.com). I’ve been married to my best friend, Todd, and I had our son, Ethan, in 2016. We are a Disney loving family of foodies with two cats and a music obsession. I am sarcastic, awkward and I love puns. I laugh at inappropriate times, I give the benefit of the doubt and I always try to see both sides. I am the queen of “frankenwords”, I like board games and my favorite smell is petrichor. I am a blogger, product advocate and also the proud owner and founder of Essential Moms. I help families find natural solutions to their health and wellness challenges, mostly with dōTERRA essential oils. After high school, she attended California State University, Fresno where she earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration and Marketing. Regretfully, she admits that she never spent enough time thinking about or researching career options until after she had graduated in 2008. Still, she attributes the success of finding a position and “moving up the ladder” to her willingness, (when she’s in the mood), to be coachable. In 2013, Kylee left her corporate life in the financial sector to start a family. She describes the choice to stay home with her family as both a blessing and an identity crisis. Fortunately, writing has become an enjoyable outlet for her in addition to traveling, reading and serving in the Mothers of Preschool Ministry. Kylee and her husband, Serg live in Anaheim Hills with their two daughters. They are expecting their first son this Summer 2018! Kylee is still unable to code.I am a stay at home mom to two beautiful little girls Kylenn (6) and Karter (1). I’m married to my husband for 2 years and been together for over 7 years. I had my oldest at 17, we both have grown so much together and I wouldn’t have changed it. I’ve lived in Orange County since I was a young girl myself. I am an introvert but trying to break out of my shell. I enjoy hula and have been dancing since I was 8. Growing up, art and soccer was my passion. Now I have a blast playing soccer with my girls!Alaina Nunez is the professional photographer who specializes in documenting unforgettable moments in a lifestyle and documentary way. Mikaeya lives by her motto: SMILE, Life Is Good!I grew up in Southern California spending almost every Sunday at South Coast Plaza with my family. We were regulars, visiting after church for breakfast and shopping. I remember my Dad would pick outfits off the mannequin in the window for my Mom. He loved shopping and that’s where my addiction began. I spent 15+ years working in high-end fashion industry and it was a BLAST! However, the hours were not ideal when raising a family. So my husband and I decided I needed to take time off to stay at home and raise our 2 kids. After a couple years of being at home, joining mops groups, workout groups and everything I could think of, I longed for something more. I discovered Lularoe and shorty after I opened my own Lula Barn and have been styling women ever since. It fills my cup to help other women feel their best and when they come to my boutique something magical happens. I strive to reach as many women as possible and try to bring excitement to their day through fashion, so when they get up in the morning they are excited to get dressed and conquer the day!
